THE IMPROVISED PLAY is a spontaneously generated, original, often hilarious work of "instantly important theatre" created in the moment by a team of eight actors every Saturday evening at 10:00pm at the Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) in Manhattan.

Whether creating "lost" works by famous dead playwrights, resurrecting entire eras of western drama, or providing an off-the-cuff alternative to current big-ticket hits THE IMPROVISED PLAY is never the same show twice – in fact, every show is Opening Night.

THE IMPROVISED PLAY was developed at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade (which helped launch the careers of such notables as Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, and Rachel Dratch to name a few) and crafted with the aid of instructors from The Atlantic Acting School.

The company of actors who make up THE IMPROVISED PLAY are: Matt Dennie, Gia Ingram, Jackie Jennings, Lisa Kleinman, Carrie McCrossen, Hunter Nelson, Josh Sharp and Zack Willis.

Each IMPROVISED PLAY is centered on one theme or playwright, at the start of each play the audience gets the opportunity to title the work they are about to see. The up-coming schedule of IMPROVISED PLAY's is as follows: Saturday, July 28th at 10:00pm – Tennessee Williams; Saturday, August 4th at 10:00pm – David Mamet; Saturday, August 11th at 10:00pm – Harold Pinter; Saturday, August 18th at 10:00pm – David Mamet; Saturday, August 25th at 10:00pm – FringeNYC Tribute Show.

Tickets for THE IMPROVISED PLAY are $20 and can be purchased online at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/914872 or at the Soho Playhouse Box Office prior to the performance.
