Grammy-winning new-music choir The Crossing presents the world premiere of English composer Gavin Bryars'substantial new evening-length a cappella work, A Native Hill, on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 5pm at The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia.

Grammy winning new-music choir, The Crossing, is featured on the New York Philharmonic's new recording of its world premiere performance of Julia Wolfe's Fire in my mouth out digitally today, August 30, 2019, and in physical format on October 4, 2019 on Decca Gold, Universal Music Group's newly established US classical music label.

A Pulitzer Prize finalist, Guggenheim fellow, and Radcliffe alum, Kate Soper's music has been described as 'exquisitely quirky' (The New York Times) and 'epic' (WQXR). As a performer, she has been praised as a 'dazzling vocalist' (The New Yorker) and likened to 'Lucille Ball reinterpreted by Linda Blair' (Pitchfork).

Bach: Partitas for Keyboard, BWV 825-830 [DSL 92209] a 3-CD set featuring two-time GRAMMY®-nominated harpsichordistJory Vinikour.  For this recording the harpsichordist and conductor, whose performances have been called "so buoyant, glistening or noble that you'll likely find yourself glued to your speakers (or headphones)" by Gramophone, performs on a stunning copy of a North German instrument of Bach's time built by Tom and Barbara Wolf.

C.P.E. Bach's Symphony No. 5, a devilishly difficult showpiece, sets the tone with its careening runs and shocking use of harmony.

The Thursday concerts take place today, February 4, as well as February 11, and 18, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
