The Broadway community mourns the loss of celebrated theatrical publicist Shirley Herz, who passed away on Sunday at age 87. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in her memory tonight, August 14th, at exactly 8:00 p.m. for one minute.

Summer Concerts on the Hudson will present a one-night-only celebration of the Great White Way on Monday, August 26th at 7 PM. Featured performers include: Beth Leavel (Tony Award, The Drowsy Chaperone), Vivian Reed (Tony nominee, Bubbling Brown Sugar and Marie Christine), Joshua Henry (Tony nominee, The Scottsboro Boys), John Bolton (A Christmas Story), Max Von Essen (Evita), Tari Kelly (Anything Goes), Jeff McCarthy (Beauty And The Beast), and Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones).

Audiences will have eight more opportunities to catch Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre's summer hit. The cabaret of over 30 songs by songwriter Cole Porter, which had already extended for six weeks beyond its initial eight-week run, will now be extended for two final weeks, closing on Sunday, September 15th. Artistic Director Fred Anzevino announced the extension on Monday, August 12.

Shirley Herz, a legendary theatrical press agent, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. The cause was complications from a stroke suffered on July 18, said Sam Altman, a longtime friend.

Producers Bill Kenwright, The Really Useful Group, David Mirvish, Troika Entertainment, Warner Bros. & The Nederlander Organization have announced that the first North American tour of the new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ will make its L.A. debut at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre for a limited 3 week engagement; September 17 - October 6, 2013.
