Disney Theatrical Productions and the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10A. According to Variety, Jeff Nathanson has signed on as the writer for Disney's latest live-action reboot, The Lion King. As BroadwayWorld reported in September, Jon Favreau is slated to direct the film. Nathanson wrote the screenplay for Catch Me If You Can, which was later adapted into a musical starring Aaron Tveit and Norbert Leo Butz. The Broadway production was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

THE LION KING is a subscription option of the East Jefferson General Hospital Broadway in New Orleans 2016 - 2017 season.
