Grammy and Tony award winning songwriter and composer Duncan Sheik will headline Michelle Clark's Sunset Session Tour 2012 kicking off at Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas on November 9. Sheik will be performing songs from his new album Covers 80s Remixed due on November 6 on his own imprint Sneaky Records/MRI. See full list of dates below.

The Moscow production of THE LITTLE MERMAID will open tonight, on the 175th anniversary of the first publication of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. This marks the first musical production to play the newly-renovated ROSSIA Theatre on Pushkin Square, now the largest theatrical venue in Moscow.

Bloomington Theatre and Art Center has announced Striking 12, a Bloomington Civic Theatre (BCT) production taking place in the Black Box Theater November 30 through December 16, 2012. Striking 12 is directed by Christine Weber.

Today in 2009, The Little Mermaid closed at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where it ran for 685 performances. The Little Mermaid is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical's book is by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman (written for the film) and new lyrics by Glenn Slater. The original cast featured Sierra Boggess in the title role of Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric, Brian D'Addario and Trevor Braun alternate as Flounder, Norm Lewis as King Triton, Sherie Rene Scott as Ursula, Tituss Burgess as Sebastian, Tyler Maynard as Flotsam, Derrick Baskin as Jetsam, Jonathan Freeman as Grimsby, and John Treacy Egan as Chef Louis.

Good Theater, the professional company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, is gearing up for its 11th season of plays and musicals. Artistic Director Brian P. Allen calls this, “a season of firsts with two Maine premieres, a New England premiere and an East Coast premiere. Plus we've added a very special kick off event with a major Broadway star.'

Stage Entertainment, in cooperation with Disney Theatrical Productions, present the Dutch premiere of The Little Mermaid, which premiered on Broadway in 2007. After presenting Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, the Netherlands is the first country to scoop the European premiere of the Disney musical. Currently playing at the La Jolla Playhouse is The Nightingale, by the creative team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening: Steven Sater (book and lyrics) and Duncan Sheik (music). Directed by Tony Award nominee Moises Kaufman (33 Variations, I Am My Own Wife), the production runs July 10 - August 5, 2012 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.
