Tickets for THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, the world premiere of a three part theatrical event by the late Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote, are now available at www.signaturetheatre.org.

THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, the world premiere of a three part theatrical event by the late Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote, will feature a company of 22 actors under the direction of Michael Wilson. The exciting, sweeping work will be co-produced in the 2009-2010 season by Hartford Stage (Michael Wilson, Artistic Director; Michael Stotts, Managing Director) and Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director).

Playwright Horton Foote will be featured in two upcoming documentaries, according to the Hartford Courant.

Additional performances for the 63rd Annual Tony Awards® Telecast were announced today. Dolly Parton along with the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical; Elton John with the cast of Billy Elliot, The Musical; Liza Minnelli; Stockard Channing; and the band Poison along with the cast of Rock of Ages, will be taking the stage, joining previously announced performances by this year's Tony-nominated Best Musicals and Best Musical Revivals, including: Billy Elliot, The Musical; Guys and Dolls; HAIR; Next to Normal; Pal Joey; Rock of Ages; Shrek the Musical; and West Side Story.

Nominations in 27 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 63rd Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced by Tony Award Winners Cynthia Nixon and Lin-Manuel Miranda from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The Dramatists Guild of America has issued a stern statement regarding the presumed omission of the 'Best Book of a Musical' award from the Tony Award Ceremony this Sunday. The full statement from the D.G.A. President, noted Composer Stephen Schwartz, is as follows:

Laura Benanti and Brian Stokes Mitchell will host the Creative Arts portion of the 2009 Tony Awards. At 7pm, viewers will be able to login at TonyAwards.com to watch the Creative Arts categories immediately prior to the CBS Broadcast. It is not yet known which awards will fill this segment, however last year's categories included Best Orchestrations and the Design awards.

Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Wilson and Managing Director Michael Stotts, announced today that acclaimed actress Lois Smith will return to Hartford Stage in the role of matriarch Stella Gordon as she joins the Broadway cast of Horton Foote's hit comedy Dividing the Estate for the production's run at Hartford Stage May 28 - July 5.

Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Michael Wilson, artistic director, and Michael Stotts, managing director, announced today that the Broadway hit comedy Dividing the Estate, by Horton Foote, directed by Wilson, will transfer to Hartford Stage in May 2009 to close the Tony Award-winning theatre's 45th season. The gospel musical drama Gee's Bend, which was to have been the sixth and final MainStage offering this year, has been postponed until next season.

Presenters for the 63rd Annual Antoinette Perry Tony Awards® were announced today. Presenters will not only introduce the evening's various performances, but will also present the Tony Awards to the winners in each of the 27 competitive categories. NEW DRAMATISTS, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored the late Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote with their 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 60th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, on Tuesday, May 19th at the New York Marriott Marquis (1535 Broadway, between 45th and 46th Streets). Lincoln Center Theater will host a memorial for the award winning writer Horton Foote on Monday, May 11 at 4pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Mr. Foote, whose most recent play Dividing the Estate was presented on Broadway to critical acclaim earlier this season by Lincoln Center Theater by arrangement with Primary Stages, died on March 4, 2009.
