September 8, 2010 - Emmy and Tony Award-winning Hal Holbrook will guest-star in an arc of several episodes on NBC's new conspiracy-thriller series 'The Event' (Mondays, 9-10 p.m. ET) which debuts on September 20.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that the United States House of Representatives has declared September 12-18, 2010 as National Arts in Education Week.

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & MC COY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are thrilled to present Marilu Henner, who will be reprising her critically-acclaimed Broadway performance as Lee Green and Caroline Aaron will star as Marjorie Taub in a newly-revised version of Charles Busch's hilarious Broadway hit, THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE, directed by Jeff Maynard (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE will open October 1 and run through Sunday, October 17 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

Before the official October opening of its 2010-11 season, St. Louis Actors' Studio will present an original two-act play, SAM AND LAURA, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning and Emmy Award-winning writer and critic, Ron Powers.

On Monday, September 20th at 8:00pm, the Bleecker Street Theater Company will present a reading of Charles Messina's astoundingly hilarious new Broadway-bound comedy, 'A ROOM OF MY OWN' as part of that theater's Play Development Series.

The Theatre Development Fund (TDF) will continue its partnership with the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center to deliver world-class performing arts experiences to people who are deaf or impacted by hearing loss. During the upcoming 2010/11 Season, the Center will continue to provide open captioning services in partnership with TDF's National Open Captioning Initiative.

Producer Orin Wolf and Off the Aisle Productions have announced that It Must Be Him, a new comedy by Kenny Solms, co-creator and writer of the legendary, Emmy Award-winning 'Carol Burnett Show,' will premiere this summer at the Peter J. Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). Directed by Daniel Kutner, It Must Be Him will begin performances on Tuesday, August 24, and officially open on Wednesday, September 1. The limited engagement ends Sunday, September 26.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is preparing to kick off its biggest season next month and is proud to unveil the on sale dates for tickets to the 2010/11 Season. WONDERLAND: A New Alice. A New Musical Adventure will open on Broadway Sunday, April 17, 2011 and performances will begin Monday, March 21, at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. The musical will be directed by Gregory Boyd, the artistic director of the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas, with a book by Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy (The Civil War -Tony nomination) and lyrics by Jack Murphy, music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde - Grammy nomination, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War - Tony nomination, Dracula, Victor/Victoria) and choreography by Marguerite Derricks (Fame, Emmy Awards for '3rd Rock From The Sun' and 'Fame LA'). WONDERLAND: A New Alice. A New Musical Adventure will play a pre-Broadway engagement at the Ferguson Hall at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts (Judy Lisi, President and CEO) in Tampa, Florida January 4 through January 16, 2011.

Outrageous situations lead to hilarious complications in the legendary musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opening on the Main Stage at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Friday, June 25. The Irish play that led to riots in the streets of Dublin when it debuted 103 years ago and became a comic masterpiece, The Playboy of the Western World, opens the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 19th season.
