Face the Music, an ensemble of 20 classically-trained musicians ranging from sixth to twelfth grade dedicated to performing today's most compelling and creative new music, will be presented by Simone Dinnerstein's PS 321 Neighborhood Concerts in a concert called 'Beating Down the Doors' on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 7pm at PS 321 (180 7th Avenue, Brooklyn) in Park Slope. The performance is open to the public and raises funds for the school's Parent Teacher Association.

Eminent American baritone Thomas Hampson, a Manhattan School of Music Distinguished Visiting Artist, will coach select small ensembles in a master class at the school tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30 at 2 PM.

The Philadelphia Orchestra today announced that Sting will appear as its special guest for the Academy of Music 153rd Anniversary Concert on Saturday, January 30, 2010. Sting, world-renowned singer/composer, will perform some of his best-known works with the Orchestra, continuing the Academy's long history of presenting popular music.
