Broadway's Tuck Everlasting just announced that Andrew Keenan-Bolger, who currently stars as 'Jesse Tuck' in the new musical, will host The Shubert Foundation and Music Theatre International's 11th Annual Broadway Junior Student Finale, which will take place at the Imperial Theatre (249 W. 45th St.) on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM.

Voting runs through May 31 for the 13th Annual BroadwayWorld.com Awards! BroadwayWorld is happy to report that four theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 2015 Awards in a luncheon ceremony, set for the coming fall.

Although the Royal Alexandra Theatre will close for six months for a major renovation as soon as the show closes, the producers of KINKY BOOTS have managed to squeeze in one more final performance of the immensely popular musical.  The extra show, added to keep up with demand, will be performed on Sunday, May 15 at 7PM. 

Picture it: New York City; the year, 2002. A wide-eyed, Broadway first timer awaiting her first celebrity signature after a production of 'Hairspray' felt a deep connection with the raspy-voiced actor when he looked me dead in the eye and apologized for his dry sharpie. With one 'Darling, I'm so sorry,' I felt connected to something that felt so distant to me before. I was probably the only 10-year-old at my elementary school who was a Harvey Fierstein fan (specifically for 'Mrs. Doubtfire' and 'La Cage aux Folle'). Little did I know that at that exact moment, my love for Broadway would be inextricably linked to my love for drag, so a drag production based on a book written by Harvey Fierstein should be a no-brainer. Throw in a score written by Cindy Lauper and you have a show that had far to fall for me if done incorrectly. Thankfully, 'Kinky Boots' at The 5th Avenue Theatre was as fabulous as I hoped it would be.

TUCK EVERLASTING, the new musical based on Natalie Babbitt's beloved best-selling novel of the same name, will record a cast album to be released by DMI Soundtracks and distributed by Warner-Elektra-Atlantic Corporation.TUCK EVERLASTING's cast album will be produced by Frank Filipetti, Chris Miller, and Sean Patrick Flahaven, and will be recorded and mixed by Frank Filipetti. The album will be released digitally on Friday, June 10, 2016 and in stores wherever CDs are sold on Friday, July 1, 2016.

If it was possible to like... or rather, LOOOVE... the Broadway musical KINKY BOOTS even more so than one already does, the lovable, fresh-faced cast of the musical's current first national tour is certainly making a really good case for it. The Kennedy Center presents KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award winner for Best Score for KINKY BOOTS). The production makes its Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center for four weeks from June 14 through July 10, 2016, in the Kennedy Center Opera House.

Something Rotten!, the ten-time Tony Award-nominated smash hit musical comedy, will celebrate its first year on Broadway with a series of events next weekend in conjunction with the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death on April 23, 1616.
