The John W. Engeman Theater is proud to announce the cast and creative team for their upcoming production of Cabaret, which begins previews on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 8:00pm and officially opens on February 5, 2011 at 8:00pm. Cabaret will run until March 27, 2011. This production is based on the 1998 Broadway revival choreographed and co-directed by Rob Marshall and directed by Sam Mendes.

The new musical Factory Girls will be presented as a part of Pace University's New Musicals Program beginning January 26th through the 30th. Factory Girls features music and lyrics by Creighton Irons and Sean Mahoney and a book by Maggie-Kate Coleman. The reading will be directed by Amy Rogers, the head and creator of Pace University's BFA Musical Theater Program. Musical direction will be by Robert Meffe, the program's resident musical director.

Directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Wendy Seyb, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will run at the Millburn theatre from January 19 through February 13, 2010.

William Atherton, Matt Cavenaugh, Lisa O'Hare, Carol Lawrence, Millicent Martin and Jason Graae are the acclaimed film, Broadway and West End stars who will lead the cast of Reprise Theatre Company's second production of the 2010-2011 season, 'Gigi', playing February 15 to February 27, 2011 (press opening February 16, 2011) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. The musical - with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe -- will be directed by veteran musical theatre director David Lee, with choreography by Peggy Hickey and musical direction by Steve Orich.

First up will be Cutman: A Boxing Musical, the thrilling story of a young Jewish boxer's struggle between his ambition and his religion which will run May 12 - June 5, 2011. Next, The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown tells the highly-charged story of a high school valedictorian struggling with life-changing decisions about sex, love, college and the impact the paths she chooses will have on the rest of her life. This bright new musical will run August 4 - 28, 2011. A third new musical that is sure to excite Connecticut audiences will be announced soon and will run November 3 - 27.

Single tickets are now on sale and range in price from $25 to $92. Student rush tickets are $25 and are available the day of performance in person with current student ID. This January, hundreds of theatre enthusiasts from across the region will convene at the Goodspeed Opera House to experience the newest works in musical theatre. The Goodspeed campus will come alive as emerging writers, established creative teams, Goodspeed artistic staff, and senior music theatre students from The Hartt School of the University of Hartford collaborate in a weekend-long festival of new musicals.

The Sixth Annual Goodspeed Festival of New Artists, produced by Goodspeed Musicals' Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre, kicks off its much anticipated three day festival of brand new works on Friday, January 14, at the Goodspeed Opera House with a staged reading of Room 16.
