AMC Nabs 34 Emmy Award Nominations

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this morning the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy(R) Award nominations, recognizing AMC with 34 nominations, the most for any basic cable network for the fifth year in a row, breaking the previous 29 nomination record for the network from 2011.
AMC Sets THE WALKING DEAD Season 3 Premiere for 10/14

AMC announced today from Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, CA the premiere of 'The Walking Dead' Season 3 on Sunday, October 14 at 9pm ET/PT. As previously announced, the series' third season will consist of 16 episodes. Season three will also air in two-parts with the first eight hours kicking off October 14 and returning February 2013 with the final eight episodes.

'The Convert' opened last night, April 19 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. The show, written by Danai Gurira and directed by Emily Mann in co-production with McCarter Theatre Center and the Goodman Theatre, is a world premiere production running through May 19. Danai Gurira, Wes Craven, Rutina Wesley, L. AMC has cast actress Danai Gurira (Treme/The Visitor) in the coveted role of Michonne in its original series,THE WALKING DEAD. Tonight's season two finale first featured the iconic character who will reappear in season three of the AMC series. Michonne, a fan favorite from Robert Kirkman's comic book series, is a mysterious woman armed with a sword.

Marc Anthony Lands Guest Role in TNT's 'HawthoRNe'

Variety reports that Marc Anthony will be guest starring in TNT's hit show 'HawthoRNe', which also stars Jada Pinkett Smith. Anthony will portray a New York Detective, Nick Renata, who is in Richmond investigating a kidnapping and also falls for Smith's character.
