The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and Milwaukee Public Schools continue to partner for the Center's performing arts outreach program - Arts Connect.  The Center is thrilled to announce this program is continuing to grow with its third Summer Arts Camp during the run of the Broadway show, Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, this week. This opportunity is free of cost and includes students from MPS' Riverside University High School, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School and Milwaukee High School of the Arts who have a strong interest in the performing arts.

As soon as Julia Knitel took the stage at the grand piano and opened her mouth to sing, she channeled every nuance of the legendary Carole King. Based on the inspiring true story of treasured Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Carole King, BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL certainly lives up to its title. Carole King is an American treasure: a singer/songwriter of much renown, she possesses the showbiz bona fides that place her among the highest echelons of creative endeavor and for more than 50 years, she has provided the soundtrack for the lives of so many of us that you can't help but be caught up in an emotional fervor of remembrance and revelry when you hear one of her hit songs.

The West End production of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, based on the early life and career of legendary singer songwriter Carole King, will complete its run at the Aldwych Theatre on 5 August 2017.

BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL opens triumphantly in Louisville.

A cyclone of camp with a true gift for one-liners and an even stronger voice, Courtney Act followed the yellow brick road past the crowd to hit the stage in THE GIRL FROM OZ. Despite several homages to THE WIZARD OF OZ, the May 4 show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre was centered on that other, no less magical Oz: Australia. In fact, the RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE alum's entire set list was comprised of songs famously written or sung by Aussies.

BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, playing at The Aronoff Center for the Arts in Cincinnati through May 14th, is as well-constructed and entertaining as any of Ms. King's many hit tunes.  And if Tuesday night's audience is any indication, it appeals to super-fans, casual-fans and to men and women of all generations.

The latest musical to grace the stage at Syracuse's Landmark Theatre is the U.S. tour of the jukebox musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Featuring a book by Douglas McGrath it showcases the early life and career of singer and songwriter Carole King. The music and lyrics featured in the production are by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, along with other top hits written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
