The Dramatists Guild Fund and Program Chairs Michael Korie, Laurence O'Keefe, and Diana Son have announced the 2016-2017 class of DG Fellows James Christy, Khiyon Hursey, Patricia Ione Lloyd, Michael R. Jackson, C.A. Johnson, David Mallamud, Zoey Martinson, Madeline Myers, Nicole Pandolfo, and Len Schiff.

George Street Playhouse will host a special event to preview its groundbreaking 2016-17 season and celebrate the 20th anniversary of David Saint's tenure as artistic director on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 6 p.m.  The evening will be highlighted by a performance from members of the cast of Daddy Long Legs and a meet-and-greet with cast members from the season-opening Mama's Boy. 

TheaterWorks announced today the full cast and creative team for RELATIVITY, a new play by Mark St. Germain directed by Rob Ruggiero.

Reverend Theatre's new double bill of two one act plays, Nerve and Jekyll & Hyde, both written by Charlie Howitt, are two distinct but interwoven plays set within the same apartment block. Pertinently, they both explore morality in contemporary Britain. This double bill embarks on an exciting UK tour in Autumn.

Staff at Didcot Railway Centre were finally able to see 'Freddie Mercury' alongside the Locomotive used in Queen's video for 'Breakthru', ahead of One Night of Queen performed by Gary Mullen and the Works at New Theatre Oxford on September 15.

Earlier this month, Noah Weisberg performed a MY FAIR LADY/IN THE HEIGHTS mashup for STAGEDOORDISH.COM PRESENTS UNEXPECTED SONGS at Feinstein's/54 Below to benefit Muddy Paws Rescue. Wills (In Search of Euphoria).

Penguin Rep Theatre, the award-winning theatre in Stony Point, New York, under the leadership of Artistic Director Joe Brancato and Executive Director Andrew M. Horn, closes its 2016 season with the New York premiere of Daniel's Husband by Michael McKeever from September 23 through October 16, 2016. In Daniel's Husband, Mitchell and Daniel are the ideal couple, everything but married. Mitchell does not believe in marriage; Daniel does. "When their life together takes a shocking and unexpected turn," says Mr. Brancato, who will stage the production at Penguin Rep, "we learn about the power and pain of love in this breathtaking new play."

Brad Zimmerman's hit comedy My Son the Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy has begun a four-week engagement at New Brunswick's George Street Playhouse that runs through October 2. Part standup, part theatrical, My Son the Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy is the story of one man's struggle to fulfill his dream and "make it" as a comedic actor in New York.

The Drama League announced today that Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce will be the honoree of the 33rd Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway, to be held on Monday evening, November 7, 2016 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) in New York City.

Opening on September 6, the exhibition, Thinking Pictures will introduce audiences to the artists and work that defined the development and evolution of conceptual art in Moscow in the 1970s and 1980s. Thinking Pictures opens with Vitaly Komar and Alexander Melamid's pivotal 1973 installation, Apelles Ziablov (The World's First Abstract Art, Painting from the 18th Century by the Serf Artist), which features a series of paintings and artist-created archival material that present the artists' sudden discovery: an original creator of abstract art, the semi-fictional character Apelles Ziablov. The work, at once humorous and incisively critical of authority, whether governmental or historic, encapsulates the underlying spirit of the diverse practices and approaches that comprise "Moscow Conceptualism."

'My Son the Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy' is a hilarious and inspiring story about the grit and passion required to 'make it' as an artist. Written and performed by Brad Zimmerman, the hit comedy is coming to New Brunswick's George Street Playhouse for a four-week engagement from September 8 through October 2. The show, which has captivated audiences nationwide, is part standup and part theatrical.
