American Repertory Ballet Presents AN EVENING OF PREMIERES, 10/6

American Repertory Ballet will be performing a program of company premieres - An Evening of Premieres - on October 6, 2012 at 8:00pm. The program will feature a new work by Resident Choreographer Mary Barton, Ann Marie DeAngelo's Blackberry Winter, and a major revival of Gerald Arpino's Viva Vivaldi.

Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its fall 2012 season with the debut engagement of BLUE SKY RIDERS, the pop vocal trio conceived by legendary musician Kenny Loggins, Nashville's Georgia Middleman (who has penned songs for Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney & Reba McEntire) and Country Music Hall of Fame writer Gary Burr. The show will run September 25 through September 29 at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Kermit Lynch to Release Fourth Album, 'Donuts and Coffee,' 10/9

On October 9 pioneering wine importer, author and singer-songwriter Kermit Lynch releases his fourth album, Donuts & Coffee, on Lynchmusic/MesaBluemoon Recordings. The LP is a follow-up to 2011's well received Kitty Fur, about which Amazon.com marveled, "…the biggest surprise is not that the wine industry's greatest trailblazer has made a record, but that Kermit Lynch has delivered an album as unique, expressive and flavorful as the artisanal wines he's championed to the world." The Tucson Citizen called it "as outstanding as any fine wine he's ever imported," and No Depression described Lynch's voice on the album as, "a bluesy instrument with the weathered edges of someone more partial to grain than grape, [which] adds new shades to each interpretation."

As has been the buzz on Twitter, Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be returning in 2012 to host 'Country Music's Biggest Night(TM)' for a fifth time. 'The 46th Annual CMA Awards' airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Alhambra Extends its Hank Williams Show Through 8/26

Craig Smith, Managing Partner of the new Alhambra Theatre & Dining, announced this morning that its current show, 'Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes' will be extending another week, to run through August 26 rather than August 19th. The show, which opened on July 24, has been steadily attracting bigger audiences. Smith wanted to accommodate the guests who weren't able to see the show during its scheduled run because of summer vacations and busy schedules.

George Jones was born in 1931 in the East Texas town of Saratoga. As a kid he sang for tips on the streets of nearby Beaumont. By age 24, he had been married twice, served in the Marines and was a veteran of the Texas honky-tonk circuit. On a recording session in 1955 for Starday Records, producer Pappy Dailey suggested he quit singing like his idols, Lefty Frizzell, Roy Acuff and Hank Williams, and try singing like George Jones. The result was 'Why Baby Why,' his first Top Five Hit.

6 New Shows Set To Come to the King Center

The Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts opened its doors in 1988. Since that time, it has had a profound impact on the cultural and artistic landscape of Brevard County and Central Florida. The need for a performing arts center in Brevard County had been apparent for many years. Periodically, task forces were formed to try to garner the necessary funds, but each time the costs were deemed prohibitive and the idea was abandoned.
