Signature Theatre has announced the cast of WEST SIDE STORY, directed by Signature Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's Sunday in the Park with George, Cabaret). The musical, a collaboration of music, dance and theater giants Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerome Robbins and Arthur Laurents, is considered by some to be one of the greatest musicals of all time. WEST SIDE STORY will run from December 8 - January 24 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company will present the eleventh annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer.  The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Karen Ziemba on Monday, November 30th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Seattle-based actor and director Matt Wolfe recently took the reigns as artistic director for SHOWTUNES Theatre Company. His first full day of work was Monday October 5, 2015 and he is knee-deep in preparations for the start of the expanded three-show 2015-2016 Season. On December 5th The Washingtonians will kick things off by performing Songs We Know; it will be their first concert after a 12-year hiatus and more than 65 chorus members are expected to participate.

Today, Anne Frank's humor, strength, and innate goodness continue to shine forth from her words to inspire readers and audiences of all ages. The powerful story of her family's will to survive comes to unforgettable life for a new generation in this adaptation of the Pulitzer, Tony, and NY Drama Critic's Circle Award-winning play.

David Engle talks about his journey with LA CAGE AUX FOLLES from dancer to star, from coast to coast. He plays Albin for San Diego Musical Theatre at the Spreckels theatre through Ocotber 11th.

Though no one in Aaron Lazar's family had professionally pursued show business before he came along, he sees his entire career as being heavily influenced by his musically talented grandparents and great-grandparents. So in order to give back to the special seniors in his personal and professional life, Lazar has become involved with JASA (Jewish Association Serving the Aging), a non-profit organization. Lazar opened up to me about the impact the seniors in his life have had on him, his favorite memories from working with legends like Angela Lansbury and Elaine Stritch, why he wanted to join JASA, and more.
