It's Official: Gucci Names Michele New Creative Director

Gucci and parent company Kering confirmed to WWD that they have named Alessandro Michele as their new creative director, succeeding Frida Giannini. Michele will debut his first collection in Milan on February 25th for the women's fall/winter 2015/16 season.

WWD reported that the announcement of Alessandro Michele, currently Gucci's head accessory designer, will take over as creative director is imminent. Michele would be filling the shoes of Frida Giannini's after her early departure last week and has up until now been the front runner for the job.

In December, Gucci announced that it would be losing its creative director, Frida Giannini, starting the rumor mill cranking as to 'who would be the next great Gucci creative head?' In a swift move, Gucci has seemed to up the anti by asking Giannini to leave earlier than expected to help faciliate the transition and picking process.

Gucci has tapped vibrant South Korean actress Gianna Jun to front their new accessories ads campaigns.
Sølve Sundsbø shot the images last week, which show Jun wearing the brand's new collections of watches, jewelry and sunglasses. Look for the campaign's debut in January.

Last night's Chime for Change One-Year Anniversary Event, hosted by Gucci, was the first time the Knowles sisters appeared together since the infamous shoving match between Solange and Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z. Security footage was sold to the press showing Solange hitting her brother-in-law after the Met gala and it immediately went viral. But here they are together again, looking as fabulous as ever.

Gucci is launching the next chapter in its Forever Now ad campaign for its signature Flora pattern with a familiar face: Charlotte Casiraghi. This is the third time Casiraghi, the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, will appear in the campaign, which was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
