Salonga, Feinstein, Buckley, Cook & more Lead Segerstrom Center's 2012-13 Cabaret Season

Last week, Segerstrom Center for the Arts (formerly the Orange County Performing Arts Center) announced its brand new Cabaret Series for the 2012 - 2013 Season. Once again, familiar Broadway talent will make up most of the Center's impressive Cabaret series, which include Tony Winners Lea Salonga, Betty Buckley, and Barbara Cook. Rounding out the line-up are husband-and-wife Broadway stars Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley, and Grammy-nominated artists Michael Feinstein and Jane Monheit (with the John Pizzarelli Quartet).

Special guests Marge Champion, Barbara Van Orden and Tony Butala join author, Patty Farmer Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 pm, for a Q&A and to sign copies of "The Persian Room Presents." A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Childhelp for the treatment and prevention of child abuse. The event will be held at Barnes & Noble (82nd & Broadway).

There is much to like about Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show, which played at the beautiful McCallum Theatre for three sold out performances on March 2 and 3.
Like so many others, I would have loved to have had the chance to witness the "real" Rat Pack hold court in the world famous Copa Room some fifty years ago and so I was greatly anticipating an evening that promised to deliver the next best thing. For the most part, it kept its promise.
