Albuquerque Theatre Guild sets their September 2011 Performance Calendar. More theatrical performances take place every weekend here in Albuquerque than in any other U.S. city of its size.

Reprise Theatre Company's production of the classic American musical 'Cabaret,' which opens the 2011-2012 Reprise season and plays September 13 to 25 (press opening September 14, 2011) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, includes a cast of new talents as well as Broadway and West End veterans - Zach Bandler as Ernst Ludwig, Lisa O'Hare as Sally Bowles, Jeff McLean as Cliff Bradshaw, Katrina Lenk as Fräulein Kost, Mary Gordon Murray as Fräulein Schneider, Robert Picardo as Herr Schultz and Bryce Ryness as the Master of Ceremonies.

GUYS AND DOLLS, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy featuring one of the great musical scores in the history of American theatre, comes to Theatre at the Center, September 15 through October 16, 2011.

It is hard to find any theater-goer out there who isn't familiar with Frank Loesser and Jo Swerling's masterpiece of musical comedy, Guys and Dolls. When those storied gangsters from the classic musical "roll" into town at the Fox on August 16, joining them will be Atlanta native and favorite, Glen Rainey. The producers of the 50th Anniversary production of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING recently announced that Darren Criss, breakout star of Fox's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning smash hit television show 'GLEE', will make his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch, performing a strictly limited three week engagement from January 3, through January 22, 2012. He will replace Daniel Radcliffe, who will play his final performance on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Tickets for Radcliffe's final performances in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING are now on sale!

Another wonderful evening of song from Kritzerland, Bruce Kimmel's production label, at the Gardenia on Wednesday August 3, this time saluting the music of Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, and congrats are in as this show marks Kritzerland's 12th consecutive show in its series at the Gardenia! Schmidt and Jones penned The Fantasticks, I Do! I Do!, among the most famous, and less so: 110 In the Shade, Collette Collage, Celebration and even a musical entitled The Bone Room. On hand to perform were musical director John Boswell and special guest Rex Smith, Lauren Rubin, Michaelia Leigh, Will Collyer, Camille Saviola, Michael Hawkins, 13 year-old Melody Hollis and even Guy Haines - I mean, Bruce Kimmel himself - singing. And I'm here to tell you, he didn't sound half bad! Kimmel as always introduced the evening with interesting composer trivia and anecdotes. The music showcased included well known tunes and lesser known or unfamiliar ones. Schmidt and Jones may not have had the popularity of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe, or Kander and Ebb, but one thing is certain they sure did pen some eclectically beautiful songs!

Just before GLEE returns to airwaves this September 21, Darren Criss can be seen at the Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles. The actor, who's set to take over for Daniel Radcliffe in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING for three weeks this January, will perform at the September 10th closing party.

It's the question that everyone has been asking since Deadline.com first scooped the news a few weeks ago - will Darren Criss make his Broadway debut this year in a star-studded revival? Now, Marc Malkin at E! says yes, and that an official announcement is due tomorrow of the star having a three-week run, beginning on January 3, 2012.
