The Signature Theatre world premiere production of The Antipodes, written by Residency Five playwright Annie Baker and directed by Lila Neugebauer, has been extended for a fourth time.

Signature Theatre will co-host a free event with The Ghostlight Project to kick off The Ghostlight Project's Who's Your Neighbor campaign, a week-long initiative that encourages people to volunteer. The event will take place Monday, May 1 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

On Thursday, April 20, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) will welcome 280 of New York City's top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados to the second annual YoungArts New York Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing. The YoungArts New York Gala will be emceed by former Gossip Girl and The Knick actress Zuzanna Szadkowski (1997 Winner in Theater and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), and will feature an elegant reception and seated dinner by Restaurant Associates. Throughout the evening, a series of interdisciplinary performance vignettes will be directed by YoungArts alumni Jake Goldbas (2007 Winner in Jazz), featuring soul singer and songwriter Grace Weber (2006 Winner in Voice and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), jazz singer, songwriter and bassist Kate Davis (2009 Winner in Jazz and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), R&B/pop singer and songwriter and The Voice Season 8 Top 5 contestant India Carney (2011 Winner in Theater, Voice and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), modern dancer Javon Jones (2016 Winner in Dance and inaugural Max Mara Young Visionary Award recipient) alongside four recent YoungArts dance alumni, and more.

SWEETEE (www.SweeteeTheMusical.com) a new American musical with book, music and lyrics by Gail Kriegel (Home Front, Seven) and directed and choreographed by five-time Tony  nominee and two-time Emmy Award winner Patricia Birch (Broadway: Grease, Candide, Parade) will play at the Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) for a limited engagement from May 21st - June 18th.

The 2017-18 Signature Theatre Season will feature plays by three Pulitzer Prize-winners and the New York premiere of a play by one of its new Residency Five playwrights, the company announced today.

Conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen returns to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage after nearly 20 years to conduct The MET Orchestra in three concerts this May and June. The first concert in the series, on Wednesday, May 31, at 8:00 p.m., features an all-Mahler program with mezzo-soprano Susan Graham and tenor Matthew Polenzani singing selections from Des Knaben Wunderhorn alongside Symphony No. 1 in D Major. On Saturday, June 3 at 3:00 p.m., Maestro Salonen leads the orchestra in Schumann's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97, 'Rhenish' alongside Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde, featuring mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill and tenor Stuart Skelton. For the final concert in The MET Orchestra series, on Tuesday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m., Mr. Salonen conducts Mahler'sBlumine and Kindertotenlieder, featuring mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter. Also on the program is Sibelius's Symphony No. 7 in C Major, Op. 105 and his Violin Concerto in D Minor, featuring guest soloist Christian Tetzlaff. Mr. Salonen last conducted in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage in 1998.
