THE FIRST NATIONAL TOUR OF LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will begin performances in Milwaukee on April 13-18, 2010 presented by Broadway Across America-Milwaukee and the Marcus Center as part of the Time Warner Cable Broadway at the Marcus Center Series. Tickets will go on sale at NOON on December 13.

In its first year on Broadway, LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations, ten 2007 Drama Desk Award Nominations, a 2007 Outer Critics Circle Award and the chorus of the musical was honored by Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) with the first ever ACCA Award. The musical also ranked in the top ten list of the most requested Ticketmaster 'Arts & Theatre Events' for 2007. LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL received three 2009 Touring Broadway Awards in New York City on May 4, 2009. The show won awards for Best New Musical, Best Production Design and Best Choreography of a Touring Production. The Awards, presented by The Broadway League, honor excellence in Touring Broadway. It is the only such national award.

Legally Blonde The Musical makes its Detroit debut at the Fisher Theatre for a limited engagement October 15 - November 1, 2009. Tickets go on sale August 28.

Actress Megan Mullally, best known for her two-time Emmy Award winning role of Karen on Will & Grace, is also a versatile stage actress. Last year she co-starred on Broadway in Mel Brooks' musical version of Young Frankenstein and is currently treading the boards once more as Beverly in the controversial The Receptionist at the Odyssey Theatre, extended until November 21.

As previously reported, the lovable Karen Walker will be walking her way into the Great White Way one stilettoed step at a time with the tentatively titled Karen: The Musical, a comedy inspired by Megan Mullally's Will & Grace character, Karen Walker.

Strawdog Theatre Company of Chicago announces their 22nd anniversary season of presenting 'the whole wide world in a little black box,' with the three mainstage plays focusing on the theme of 'why we fight': the Midwest premiere of Matt Pepper's St. Crispin's Day, Curt Columbus' translation of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya and David Harrower's translation of Bertolt Brecht's The Good Soul of Szechuan.
