Strawdog Theatre Company and Interim Artistic Director Hank Boland and Crip Slam, part of Victory Gardens Access Project, announce a fully accessible performance of the world premiere of Philip Dawkins' Miss Marx: or The Involuntary Side Effect of Living directed by Megan Shuchman, Thursday, March 13 at 8 p.m. at Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, in the Prince Charitable Trust Rehearsal Room, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. This performance will be fully wheelchair accessible. Audio description, open captioning and a touch tour of elements from the production will also be provided. Immediately following that night's performance there will be a post show talk back with the playwright and director. This performance is pay what you can at the door with reservations requested. Reservations may be made at boxoffice@strawdog.org or 773.528.9696. In addition to the Victory Garden performance, an ASL performance is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at 4 p.m. at Strawdog Theatre. The performance schedule for the production running through April 5 at Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway St., is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Single Tickets are $28 and are currently on sale. The Public Theater previously announced that PS Classics, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song, would record and release the original cast recording of the acclaimed Public Theater musical FUN HOME, directed by Sam Gold and featuring music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron. Fox Theatricals and Barbara Whitman are serving as the recording's executive producers. Based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel, FUN HOME was recorded on Monday, December 2 and is being released as a single disc today, February 18, 2014. (more...)

Baker will oversee all of Starlight's operations and programming including the not-for-profit's Broadway and Concert series, extensive education programs, and all development activities for the 64 year-old performing arts organization. Preview performance tickets are $15 with performances Friday, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8, Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. There is a Preview Party, Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., with $50 tickets that include access to a post-performance reception.
