Musicians Mobilise Against TTP with Free Concert

On Friday, October 7th, as part of the nationwide Rock Against the TPP tour, prominent musicians will lead the charge in mobilizing to raise awareness about the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), an unpopular deal that has been a contentious issue in the 2016 election. The tour, which is the largest mobilization against the TPP in U.S. history, comes to Spontaneous Celebrations in Jamaica Plain from 6pm - 10pm for a FREE concert featuring indie star Mirah, beloved Ethiopian dance-pop troupe Debo Band, renowned Boston hip hop duo Foundation Movement, and more.

As the White House readies a final desperate push for the unpopular Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, large crowds turned out for 'Rock Against the TPP' events in Seattle and Portland over the weekend as part of a nationwide protest tour featuring high profile celebrities including actress Evangeline Lilly, hip hop icon Talib Kweli, comedian Hari Kondabolu, and punk band Anti-Flag. TV's Adult Swim comedian Eric Andre made a surprise appearance at the Seattle event at Showbox SoDo, while the outdoor Portland event featured a street march with an inflatable TPP 'death star.' This week, August 19th-20th, as part of the nationwide Rock Against the TPP tour, prominent musicians, actors, comedians and celebrities will lead the charge in mobilizing to raise awareness about the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The tour, which is the largest mobilization against the TPP in U.S. history, is comprised of a series of large-scale concerts, teach-ins, and protests, in an effort to educate the public about the unpopular "trade" deal that has been a hot topic in the presidential election.

According to People, the ROCKY and CREED star was recently seen in Atlanta, GA with a GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 script in hand before heading to the set. No word on who Stallone might be playing - though the report notes it could be the father of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). Kurt Russell, who recently joined the cast, was also rumored for the role.

Marvel Studios has begun principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, on Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, which is slated to hit U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017. The production will shoot at Atlanta's Pinewood Studios.

Now that 2015 is squarely in the rearview mirror, and everyone is back to work after the holidays, it is time to take a look at some of the best films of the past year. As was the case with my Top 15 TV Shows of 2015 list, this is not intended to be a comprehensive list. I am one man, and I have not yet seen every major movie released last year. However, as I continue to work through screeners and upcoming screenings (I live in Orlando, so not all of the awards-bait has been released here yet), I will count down the top 2015 releases that I saw during the calendar year. Notable omissions are BRIDGE OF SPIES, THE REVENANT, THE DANISH GIRL, and CONCUSSION, all of which I hope to see by the end of the week.
