Godspell and Agatha Christie's Towards Zero kick off the 2016 season for Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, the longest continuously running summer theatre in Maryland.  In residence at CCBC Essex, this community theatre has been mounting Broadway-quality productions for 44 years.

Rob Hinderliter and Dominick LaRuffa, Jr. of R&D Theatricals (All the Way, Deaf West's Spring Awakening, An American In Paris) in association with Dennis D'Amico (NOVA, the classical music of Sir Paul McCartney) are presenting an invitation-only reading of Marilee & Baby Lamb: The Assassination of an American Goddess today and tomorrow, January 21st & 22nd, at New York City's iconic Birdland Jazz Club, following its critically acclaimed run in Las Cruces, NM, this past fall.

The brilliant Klea Blackhurst repeated her starring role as the saucy, wisecracking housemaid Hazel in a new musical based on Ted Key's cartoon character Hazel - best known for the 1961-66 TV sitcom of the same name. Titled 'Hazel: A Musical Maid in America', the four Lab Workshop performances were May 28 and 29 at the Lyric Theatre Performance Space in Times Square. The completely reimagined revival of Side Show opened last night, November 17, at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). BroadwayWorld was there to capture the cast glammed up and celebrating at the party!

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. a silent auction and raffles. At 7:30 p.m., the CPM cast presents a special preview performance of HELLO, DOLLY! - CPM's first musical production for its fall 2014 season. A buffet reception will follow the performance. And this year's menu of favorites - 'Peter Pan' (June 13-29), 'The Odd Couple' (June 14-29), 'Annie, Jr.' (July 11-20), 'Legally Blonde' (July 18-Aug. 3) and 'The Tale of the Allergist's Wife' (July 19-Aug. 3) - could do just that!

Winners of the 2014 Joey Awards were announced last weekend at a formal evening ceremony at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Organized and overseen by the Joe Allen Academy of Arts & Bitching (JAAAB), 'The Joeys' are a set of awards given annually for excellence in food service and patronage at New York's City's famous Times Square celebrity hot-spots: Joe Allen, Orso and Bar Centrale.
