 New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) is currently accepting applications for the 2016/17 season of its 2050 Fellowship program for emerging playwrights and directors. Applications are due October 19, 2015 at 5pm EST.

Yale Repertory Theatre opens its 2015-16 season with the world premiere of INDECENT, a new play with music, written by Paula Vogel, created by Paula Vogel and Rebecca Taichman, and directed by Rebecca Taichman, at the University Theatre (222 York Street), October 2-24. Opening Night is Thursday, October 8. The world premiere of INDECENT is a co-production with La Jolla Playhouse, where it will play November 13-December 10.

ONCE, which was also named Best Musical by the New York Drama Critics' Circle, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards, ran for more than 1,100 performances on Broadway with acclaimed international productions from London and Melbourne to Japan and South Korea.  Check out a first look at highlights of the national tour below!

ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, will play the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a one week limited engagement from November 17-22.  Tickets for ONCE go on sale Monday, September 14 through ticketmaster.ca, or by calling 1-855-985-5000. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced a new CheapTix program, which will make all single tickets to the first two performances of every NYTW production available to the general public at $25. The program will kick off with FONDLY, COLLETTE RICHLAND, the first production of the New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) 2015/16 Season. FONDLY, COLLETTE RICHLAND begins previews on Friday, September 11, 2015 and officially opens on Monday, September 28, 2015 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003) for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 18, 2015. The Edinburgh International Festival opened last night with The Harmonium Project, a free outdoor animated performance that lit up the city's key concert hall, to celebrate 50 years of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus. Approximately 19,500 watched a series of projected artworks, designed by 59 Productions, on the Usher Hall whilst listening to John Adams' mesmerising choral work Harmonium. This year's Dublin Theatre Festival programme will stage 28 world-class productions, spanning 22 different stages across Dublin city and suburbs. 11 new Irish works will premiere over 18 days alongside acclaimed productions from France, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, the UK and Denmark.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced the playwrights and directors selected for the 2015/16 season 2050 Fellowship. The playwrights are Nathan Alan Davis, Hansol Jung and Patricia Ione Lloyd and the directors are Noelle Ghoussaini, Alexandru Mihail and Danya Taymor.

Yet this atypical not-really-a-musical musical won eight Tony Awards in 2012. Why is that? Why was this quiet and quirky musical based on a little Irish movie awarded Broadway's biggest prize? Perhaps because it is different from other musicals. Perhaps the voters awarded the creative and organic way music is used to tell this beautifully simple and non-traditional love story.
