Brett Harris, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Durham, NC, will be releasing the Mr. Sunshine EP on September 9. The 4 song EP was recorded with Jeff Crawford (Mandolin Orange, The Old Ceremony) between Brett's touring as a member of jangle pop progenitors The dB's and his performing as a core band member in the live performances of Big Star's Third.

Today, SHOWTIME announced the premiere date for the network's captivating new original documentary LOST SONGS: THE BASEMENT TAPES CONTINUED, which will premiere on Friday, November 21st at 9:00 p.m. The documentary, which is produced by Oscar winner T Bone Burnett and Sam Jones and directed by Jones, chronicles the recording of new music from long-lost lyrics penned by legendary songwriter Bob Dylan.

The Town Hall 2014 Summer Season: Broadway Preludes presents Broadway Rising Stars, the annual revue giving recent graduates from the nation's leading performing arts schools a chance to showcase their talents and perform on the legendary stage. Directed by Scott Coulter, Broadway Rising Stars is created, hosted and written by Scott Siegel and features the brightest talent from AMDA, CAP 21, Circle in the Square, Juilliard, Marymount, The New School, NYU's Steinhardt and Tisch, Pace University, and more. The event will feature a special guest appearance by Tony Award winner Bill Irwin (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Fool Moon). On the heels of her exciting recent performances at Brooklyn's Shape Shifter Lab and Manhattan's Metropolitan Room, powerhouse vocalist Sari Schorr will next appear at The Cutting Room (44 E. 32nd Street, NYC) on Thursday, July 31 at 7 pm. Supporting Schorr will be her all-star band The Engine Room, featuring Rob Paparozzi on harmonica and vocals, Pete Levin on keyboards, Jerry Marotta on drums, John Cariddi on guitar, and Sue Williams on bass. With a distinctive sound and a 5-octave range that draws from her roots in blues, rock and jazz, Schorr will debut a selection of explosive songs from her upcoming CD. The Cutting Room show will also feature drumming and recording legend Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie, who with his indelible sound will revisit some classic moments in funk drumming history, while also offering up some fat new grooves on songs written by Schorr.
