The Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will produce the world-premiere of Christopher Shinn's play PICKED in March, along with a new interactive work by Zach Helm inspired by Spalding Gray in February, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director of the Vineyard.

According to the NY Times, Cherry Lane Theatre's Angelina Fiordellisi, will resign as Artistic Director sometime between March and June of 2011. Additionally, Fiordellisi plans to sell the building, which has been a Greenwich Village staple since 1924, due to ongoing financial struggles.

Tony Award-winning playwright Edward Albee, Obie Award winner and founder of the Living Theatre Judith Malina, and director of the archives of La Mama Experimental Theater Ozzie Rodriguez, will join in a discussion with Village Voice theatre critic Michael Feingold on Sun., Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Provincetown Playhouse, 133 MacDougal Street.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) announced today that it has commissioned FAR FROM HEAVEN, a new musical with book by Tony Award winner and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain), music by Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens) and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens, The Grapes of Wrath). The musical is being adapted from the acclaimed, award-winning 2002 Focus Features/Vulcan Productions motion picture Far From Heaven, written and directed by Todd Haynes.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its 2010-2011 season with Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? directed by Pam MacKinnon. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater continues its 16th season with the world premiere of The Hallway Trilogy, three full length plays set fifty years apart (1953, 2003, 2053) by Adam Rapp.

According to Deadline.com, stage and screen star Bill Pullman will join BBC's TORCHWOOD for it's fourth season. Pullman will star as Oswald Jones, 'a dangerously clever convicted murderer who escapes his lifelong prison sentence on a technicality and quickly becomes a media sensation.'
