Herbert Siguenza returns to the Alley Theatre, having previously appeared in ¡Cantinflas! and Culture Clash in AmeriCCa, as actor, playwright and artist for the world premiere of A Weekend With Pablo Picasso. Siguenza brings his virtuosic writing, acting and design skills into Picasso's private studio, 'Le Californie' on the coast of France, for an intimate and revealing weekend. Picasso's controversial and flamboyant opinions and creations gripped the public imagination and forever changed 20th century art. Delving into the creative mind and work of one of the most inspiring artists of modern history, this play explores Picasso's proclamations about ambition, destruction, creativity and art as an agent of social change. Recommended for mature audiences, strong language and brief nudity.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) continues its 2010/11 Season with Steven Sater and Serj Tankian's world premiere rock musical Prometheus Bound, directed by Diane Paulus.

After announcing this morning that he will return to the Royal Shakespeare Company this summer, Patrick Stewart has also announced that he will be returning to the Young Vic next year. He will appear as William Shakespeare in Edward Bond's 1973 play Bingo, a play he first appeared in back in April 2010 at Chichester Festival's Minerva theatre.

Casting has been announced for PROMETHEUS BOUND, a new musical with script and lyrics by Steven Sater (from the play by Aeschylus) with music composed by Serj Tankian and directed by Diane Paulus. The production with run at the American Repertory Theater from February 25 - April 2, 2011.

Marin Theatre Company presents the world premiere of a new version of Anton Chekhov's Seagull by Libby Appel, former Artistic Director of Oregon Shakespeare Festival, January 27 through February 20. Adapted from a literal translation by Allison Horsley, Appel includes never-before-seen text from Chekhov that has only recently become available. MTC Artistic Director Jasson Minadakis directs a sleek, sexy production of this classic. Opening night is on February 1.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced an extension of its World Premiere production of A SMALL FIRE, a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater continues its inaugural season this spring with an unparalleled tribute to one of the nation's greatest living playwrights, Edward Albee. The company has mounted a two-month festival featuring 30 events, making nearly every one of his plays available in performance spaces throughout the Mead Center.
