ABC Tops Monday for 6th Straight Week

Despite airing a repeat in the 10pm hour, ABC was Monday's most-watched TV net for the 6th consecutive week, outdrawing second-place Fox with its all-original 8-10pm line-up by 4.6 million viewers (14.5 million vs. 9.9 million). ABC was a strong second during prime to Fox (beating Fox by 11% in head-to-head competition from 8-10pm) in Adults 18-49 (3.3/9), outdelivering CBS by 38% (2.4/7) and NBC by 94% (1.7/5) . Although Castle was in repeat at 10pm this year but an original on the year-ago night, ABC's Monday numbers grew year to year in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 for the 6th consecutive week (14.0 million and 3.2/9 on 4/27/09).

Five incredible Latin Jazz legends will heat up the Blue Note stage at the Winter Latin Jazz Festival from January 19 to 31. The festival will start with jazz flutist Dave Valentin and conga legend Candido from Jan. 19 - 20. Trumpeter Arturo Sandoval and his Latin jazz group will finish up the week from Jan. 21 - 24. Argentinian saxophonist Gato Barbieri will play from Jan. 25 - 27, and percussionist Poncho Sanchez will finish up the festival from Jan. 28 - 31.

BWW Review: They Are Your DREAMGIRLS, They'll Make Ya Happy--Mostly

In the show's titular song, the cast of Dreamgirls, currently on tour and playing at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis, promises to make you happy. And despite the faults of both this show and this particular production, that promise was upheld. More than anything, the characters' enthusiasm, especially early in the show, was infectious and exciting. Add in incredible performances and an interesting set, and the recipe has the potential to add up to a good night of theater.
