Tonight, May 2nd the Raven Theatre will be opening a short play festival at the West Stage. THE ED SHOW, hosted by Ed Schultz will return to MSNBC starting Saturday, May 11 at 5 p.m. ET. The Saturday and Sunday show will debut as a one-hour long program expanding to a two-hour format from 5-7 p.m. ET later this summer.

MSNBC's Ed Schultz will broadcast live from Freeport, Illinois this evening at 8pm ET, continuing his coverage of the Sensata Plant story. Ed will be live from the tent city across the street from the plant - which has of late become known as "Bainport" - to talk with the 170 workers who are fighting to save their jobs. Ed first reported on the story in July and his been one of the strongest voices on cable news to take on this issue.

MSNBC beat CNN for coverage of yesterday's Biden-Ryan Vice Presidential debate in both total viewers and A25-54. In primetime 8p-11p, MSNBC had 3.5 million total viewers and 1.3 million A25-54, while CNN had 3.3 million total viewers and 1.2 million A25-54.

MSNBC will host live coverage and analysis of the Presidential Debate on Wednesday evening at the University of Denver. MSNBC's special coverage begins at 8p ET/6p MT and will be hosted by Rachel Maddow with Chris Matthews, Rev. Al Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Lawrence O'Donnell, Chris Hayes and Steve Schmidt.

Last night The Stella Adler Studio of Acting held its Seventh Annual Stella by Starlight Benefit Gala at The Players Club in New York City. This year's honorees included Harry Belafonte, James Earl Jones, Daryl Roth, Ed Schultz and Masa Tanaka. Theater producer Daryl Roth, who produced last season's Tony Award-winning revival of The Normal Heart and has presented an unprecedented seven Pulitzer Prize-winning plays on the stage, will receive her second award of the month today. At its Stella by Starlight Gala tonight, May 20, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting will present Roth with The Harold Clurman Spirit Award "for courageous contribution to the culture of the city of New York and beyond." Her fellow honorees at the Stella by Starlight Gala include Harry Belafonte, James Earl Jones, Ed Schultz, and Masa Tanaka.

Theater producer Daryl Roth, who produced last season's Tony Award-winning revival of The Normal Heart and has presented an unprecedented seven Pulitzer Prize-winning plays on the stage, is set to receive two prestigious honors next month. The Family Equality Council will present Roth with the Hostetter-Habib Family Award for her continued support of the LGBT community. The presentation will take place at the organizations Night at the Pier event on May 8. Set in the turn of the century Russian countryside, Uncle Vanya captures the idle and by contrast, the toil of country life. The professor (Ed Schultz) and his young wife Yelena (Lauren Kelston) descend upon the estate owned by the family of his dead wife - namely, his daughter Sonya and his brother-in-law, Vanya played by James Leach. The once hard-working household comes to a stand still to meet the needs of the revered professor and his beguiling new wife. Time passes and the characters are left to wonder how much of their lives have really been wasted.

MSNBC beat CNN in primetime in the first half of 2010, finishing well ahead of the formerly dominant news network among both total viewers and in the key adult demographic, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. MSNBC also beat CNN in primetime for second quarter of 2010.
