The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) and Palm Canyon Theatre (PCT) join theatrical forces on Sunday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. as they bring an enchanted evening of 'The Best Of Rodgers And Hammerstein' to the desert to benefit both organizations. This cast for includes two-time Emmy® nominated actress and singer Bobbie Eakes along with the vocal talents of desert favorites Theresa Jewett, Charles Herrera, and Keisha D, who will perform numbers written and composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Members of the Palm Canyon Theatre Company will sing selections from Oklahoma!  the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus will present  'There is Nothing Like a Dame' from South Pacific, 'We Kiss in a Shadow' from The King and I and 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me' from State Fair.  The concert will be followed by a reception under the stars.

Leading into its 20th Season, the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) will be holding open call auditions August 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mizell Senior Center, 480 South Sunrise Way in Palm Springs. This special evening of camaraderie will also be an opportunity to volunteer and get involved with one of the chorus' many committees. Interested singers can also attend open rehearsals on August 14 and 21 at 7:00 p.m. to experience what it is like to perform with the chorus and meet its members.

Jim Caruso, host of Jim Caruso's Cast Party has been throwing a party at Birdland every Monday night for the past fifteen years, and needless to say, the soirée has fallen on his birthday a handful of times. Like this Monday, February 5. Cast Party became his party, and dozens of showbiz pals came to serenade him.

MadLab's Ohio premiere production of And Then They Fell by Tira Palmquist will take place Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 6 - 21, 2017, with a special preview performance on Thursday, Oct.5, at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St., in Columbus. Capping off another successful season of shows for the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus will be a tour-de-force celebration of the popular music of our lifetime with 'Palm Springs Pops.' The beautiful and powerful vocal talents of local favorites Keisha D. and Charles Herrera, along with over 85 chorus voices, will sing songs of love, joy, loss and hope from Les Miserables, Something Rotten! and Hairspray in addition to one of George and Ira Gershwin's most prolific musicals Porgy & Bess.  'My philosophy this season has been to give the audience not just a concert, but a dynamic show. We are thrilled to end our 3-concert season with Keisha and Charles joining our program, who are two-of-the-most vibrant and in-demand performers in the Coachella Valley,' said Douglas Wilson, Artistic Director.

Prolific screenwriter and playwright Del Shores is perhaps best known for his series of plays about growing up gay in the South. In the semi-autobiographical SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES, now playing at the Desert Rose Playhouse in an excellent production, he describes the clash between his identities as a devout Baptist and a gay child.
