Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, appears at Crossroads Theatre, New Brunswick on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 3:00 pm for its final New Jersey performance of its 2013-2014 season. The performance features all ten of the company members. The company is now double our size since our founding in 2012.

ODC Theater's annual fringe-style festival returns for a third year with samplings of dance from around the nation. Over two days, Friday, May 30 - Saturday, May 31, the Walking Distance Dance Festival-SF will feature three programs of paired artists, a book reading and a site-adaptive performance at Mission Bowling Club. This year's exciting cohort includes artists from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York and Seattle, several of whom will perform premieres -- all within easy walking distance of one another.

Today, March 8th NJPAC showcases of the quality and diversity of dance created in the Garden State. In its third year, Jersey Moves! Festival of Dance will feature New Jersey's top dance companies as well as the leading emerging dance troupes from around the state. Over the course of two evenings, nine dance companies with genres from Irish to modern, ballet to tap, and styles from around the world. The opening night's program will feature the two of the state's leading dance companies, and will include two world premieres from Randy James' all male dance company 10 Hairy Legs as well as a world premiere from The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, has announced that for its 2014 Spring Gala, the organization will honor David Herro and Jay Franke for their extraordinary support of American dance and, especially, arts education. The Joyce's Gala will take place on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center on Tuesday April 22 at 6pm. The black-tie event, celebrating The Joyce's commitment to arts education, will include cocktails, dinner, dancing and special performances by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Jessica Lang Dance, doug elkins choreography Etc., Momix and the talented young performers of Dancing Classrooms Youth Dance Company. Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, appears at New Jersey Performing Arts Center's Victoria Theater on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 8:00 pm as part of its Jersey Moves! Dance Festival. Continuing the company's aggressive repertory expansion that explores the range of today's male dancer, this program features two World Debuts - a quartet entitled "The Blind Men and the Elephant" by Julie Bour, and a quintet entitled "Trouble Will Find Me" by Doug Elkins. James' poignant duet, "Closing the Glass Door," which completes the program, and Bour's work will have live musical accompaniment.

A high-octane troupe of stellar dancers towing the lines of classical and contemporary movement, Rasta Thomas' Bad Boys of Dance features "fast and furious pop dancers steeped in ballet basics" (Chicago Tribune). Appearing on the stage at Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, February 20-22, the company's fast-paced 80-minute signature program is performed by six male and two female dancers to a soundtrack of popular music from Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Coldplay, The Beatles, Robin Thicke, Usher, Queen, Justin Timberlake and more.

Following the record-breaking attendance of Festival 2013, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces the 2014 Festival schedule. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts. Noted dance writer Jennifer Dunning has called the Pillow "the dance center of the nation, possibly the world."
