Cohen, the first of four new musicals in development included in this year's "Dare to Be Different" series. Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) today announced the inauguration of The Eric H. Weinberger Award for Emerging Librettists, a juried cash and production grant to be given annually to support the early work and career of a deserving musical theatre librettist. It commemorates the life and work of playwright/librettist Eric H. Weinberger (1950-2017), who was a Drama Desk Award nominee for Best Book of a Musical (Wanda's World), and the playwright/librettist of Class Mothers '68, which earned Pricilla Lopez a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special event as part of the company's celebratory 50th Anniversary Season. 'The Art of Managing a Career in the Theatre' with actress/singer/producer N'Kenge (Motown), will be held on Monday, September 24 in a spectacular, sky-high penthouse on Central Park West. The evening will begin at 6pm with cocktails and supper, followed by the presentation at 7:30pm. Tony® award-winning actor Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, ALittle Night Music, Applause), in collaboration with Aruba productions, proudly presents and stars in Broadway and the Bard: An Evening of Shakespeare &Song at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, previewing Wednesday, June 6 with a press opening Thursday, June 7 and closing Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Directed by Daniel Goldsteinwith music direction by Andrew Wilder, the readings (by invitation only) will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 1pm and 5pm at Opry City Stage (48th/49th& Broadway).

Amas Musical Theatre's (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present Jesus Christ Superstar, a Rock Opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.  The story is loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the last week of Jesus's life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion.
