South Coast Repertory's 48th season will offer audiences an exciting blend of new plays and modern-day classics. The season begins with an adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved Pride and Prejudice and will include works from some of theatre's master craftsmen: Horton Foote's touching The Trip to Bountiful, August Wilson's powerful Jitney, Donald Margulies' stimulating Sight Unseen and Suzan-Lori Park's gripping Topdog/Underdog.

South Coast Repertory's 48th season will offer audiences an exciting blend of new plays and modern-day classics. The season begins with an adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved Pride and Prejudice and will include works from some of theatre's master craftsmen: Horton Foote's touching The Trip to Bountiful, August Wilson's powerful Jitney, Donald Margulies' stimulating Sight Unseen and Suzan-Lori Park's gripping Topdog/Underdog. The new work includes the Southland debut of Molly Smith Metzler's comedy of class, Elemeno Pea, and the world premieres of three plays read at this year's Pacific Playwrights Festival: Catherine Trieschmann's pressure-cooker drama How the World Began, Steven Drukman's family comedy The Prince of Atlantis and Octavio Solis and Adam Gwon's emotional chamber musical, Cloudlands.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Beth Fowler and Richard Kline, known to millions of TV watchers as "Larry" on the classic sitcom Three's Company, will star in Greetings!, Tom Dudzick's heartwarming comedy about a family blessed by an unexpected miracle, at Penguin Rep Theatre, artistic director Joe Brancato and executive director Andrew M. Horn announced today.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor® recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored 14-time Tony Award® winner Roger Berlind with their 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 62nd Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, yesterday, May 17th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Philip J. Smith and Robert E. Wankel of The Shubert Organization served as the Luncheon Chairs. Jim Dale, Emily Mann and Brian Stokes Mitchell were among those paying tribute to Mr Berlind. Manhattan Theatre Club presented their annual Spring Gala last night, May 16, a special evening highlighting some of Broadway's most exciting shows, on Monday, May 16 at Gotham Hall. MTC's artistic director Lynne Meadow directed the evening, which was hosted by Tate Donovan (Good People) and Lily Rabe (The American Plan). The gala featured performances from the hit shows Baby It's You!, Catch Me If You Can, MTC's upcoming production of Master Class, Memphis, Rain, and Wicked.
