Johanna Day, Will Brill, Fran Kranz & More Join Cast of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU Broadway Revival

Producers of the upcoming Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play You Can't Take It With You announce more cast members for the production which begins rehearsals on Monday, July 21st. The cast will include: Will Brill (Act One) as Ed Carmichael, Fran Kranz (Death of a Salesman) as Tony Kirby, Johanna Day (August: Osage County) as Mrs. Kirby, Nick Corley (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Austin Durant (War Horse) and Joe Tapper (Witnessed By The World, 59 E 59) as the three G-Men as well as Barrett Doss, Ned Noyes, Pippa Pearthree as understudies. The complete and final cast list will be announced next week.

Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play You Can't Take It With You announce that Tony Award winner Elizabeth Ashley (Take Her, She's Mine, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Gore Vidal's The Best Man) joins the production in the role of The Grand Duchess Olga and Byron Jennings (The Merchant of Venice, Inherit the Wind) joins in the role of Mr. Kirby.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Kelli O'Hara will play Anna Leonowens, and Ken Watanabe will play the King of Siam, in its new production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, with music by Richard Rodgers and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, based on the novel Anna and the King of Siam by Margaret Landon. The production, to be directed by Bartlett Sher, will begin performances Thursday, March 12, 2015, and open on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play You Can't Take It With You announce two-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne ('Damages,' Bridesmaids, Neighbors) and Tony Award nominee Annaleigh Ashford (Kinky Boots, Wicked, 'Masters of Sex'), join previously announced Tony Award and Outer Critics' Circle winner James Earl Jones (Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Fences, The Great White Hope) and Tony Award nominee Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) in the show. Byrne, who is making her Broadway debut, will be playing Alice Sycamore and Ashford will play her sister, Essie Sycamore.

The return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING opens this week in the Kennedy Center Opera House for a limited nine-week engagement through August 17. In Washington, D.C., THE LION KING plays Tuesdays through Sunday evenings at 7:30pm with 1:30pm matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. There will be 1:30pm matinees on Wednesday, July 2, Wednesday, July 30 and Wednesday, August 13. There will not be a performance on Friday, July 4.

The Actors Fund, a national human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, is pleased to announce that the producer, cast, and management of Disney's The Lion King have added a special performance to benefit The Fund on Wednesday, July 30 at 1:30pm in the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C. The entire company will donate their time and talent for this performance that will directly benefit The Actors Fund.

Disney's THE LION KING continues to reign across North America with a sold-out engagement in Toronto, which concluded on Sunday, June 15 at The Princess of Wales Theatre. The triumphant seven-week return grossed over $11.75 million at the box office and entertained more than 100,000 patrons during 56 performances. The award-winning musical premiered in Toronto in April 2000 at the Princes of Wales Theatre, where it played 1,560 performances through January 2004 and returned in 2011 for an eight-week sold-out engagement.

Disney Theatrical Productions celebrates the announcement of two world premiere productions of THE LION KING at Shanghai Disney Resort and Mexico City, in partnership with Disney Parks and Resorts and OCESA, respectively. The announcement was made today by Thomas Schumacher, president and producer, Disney Theatrical Productions. The two productions will be the 23rd and 24th mounted around the world since the show's Broadway debut in 1997.
