Net proceeds will benefit the 501 (c)(3) not for profit Gold Coast Arts Center, a not for profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts through education, exhibition, performance and outreach.

Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 22, 2014 -- The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will celebrate opening night of its 25th anniversary season with one of the best-known and most critically-acclaimed musicians on the planet. 'A Simple Truth' (FD 1009) is the latest release from two-time Grammy Award winning saxophonist Ernie Watts. Scheduled for a street date of September 30, 2014 from the artist's Flying Dolphin Records, this is the latest in a series recorded with his Ernie Watts Quartet. 'A Simple Truth' is a concept album; a journey through a 'jazz day,' starting with early morning daybreak. Watts chose LA pianist Ron Feuer to create the lush orchestral opening, 'The Sound: Morning,' and closing, 'The Sound: Evening' with Watts improvising over both pieces, which encircle the Quartet tunes.

Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) launches its 24th season with grand opening performances in THE BLACK BOX, FPAC's new home and performance venue in downtown Franklin. A special kick-off weekend will introduce the theater, music and event space to the community. Anchoring a series of signature events, FPAC's annual Gala on Saturday evening, September 20, features a special, one-night-only performance by Tony® Award winner Beth Leavel and Broadway star Alexander Gemignani. MY SON THE WAITER - A JEWISH TRAGEDY will preview today, August 27 at 2:30pm & 7:30pm and will open on Thursday, August 28 at 7:30pm, and continue through Sunday, September 21st, at the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.
