FringeNYC 2014 Applications Now Available Through 2/14

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 18th Annual Festival from August 8 - 24, 2014. Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications for 2014 are currently being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.). Separate FringeAL FRESCO (free outdoor events) and FringeJR (children's programming) applications are also available.
Gotham Chamber Opera Announces Fourth Round of Composer in Residence Program

Gotham Chamber Opera, in collaboration with Opera Philadelphia and Music-Theatre Group in New York, is proud to offer a fourth track in the nation's first comprehensive, operatic Composer in Residence program. Funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the program provides professional development opportunities for today's most promising opera composers, selected on a competitive basis. Applications are being accepted through January 31, 2014.

Yesterday at 88 Madison Avenue, the cast of Pippin celebrated the show's new partnership with Carlton Hotel with a live performance, nail art painting provided by Caravan Stylist Studio and circus-inspired refreshments provided by the Carlton hotel. The Carlton hotel's new PIPPIN the Musical Package will be available starting January, running through March 2014. The package includes overnight luxury accommodations, tickets to PIPPIN, cocktails at restaurant Millesime and a CD soundtrack from the show.

The 2014-2015 series will feature Atlanta premieres of Disney's NEWSIES, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, PIPPIN, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, DIRTY DANCING as well the spectacular new production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University announced today the cast and creative team for the world premiere production of Witness Uganda, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie. The production begins performances at the Loeb Drama Center at 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge on February 4, and will run through March 16. It is available for press viewing from Wednesday, February 12, at 7:30pm.
