Currently playing at London's Cambridge Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Matilda the Musical is Broadway-bound in 2013. MATILDA THE MUSICAL begins performances on March 4 and opens on April 11 2013 at the Shubert Theatre (235 West 44th Street). The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers today announced the casting of the title role in the RSC's eagerly anticipated Broadway-bound musical Matilda the Musical. Each of the four girls will play the role at difference performances: Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro. Each girl will be making her Broadway debut. Annette McLaughlin will join the company of Matilda as Mrs Wormwood from today, 21 August 2012. She will play alongside Haley Flaherty and Steve Furst, who have recently joined the Company as Miss Honey and Mr Wormwood. Josie Walker performed as Mrs Wormwood for the last time on Sunday 19 Augus

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and The Dodgers, the producers of MATILDA THE MUSICAL, announced today that the show will begin previews on March 4 2013 and open on Thursday April 11 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street).

David Leonard will take over the role of Miss Trunchbull from today, 3 July 2012 and Annette McLaughlin will join the company as Mrs Wormwood from Tuesday 21 August 2012. They will play alongside Haley Flaherty and Steve Furst who have recently joined the Company as Miss Honey and Mr Wormwood. Bertie Carvel's last performance as Miss Trunchbull took place on Sunday 1 July and Josie Walker will perform as Mrs Wormwood for the last time on Sunday 19 August.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that the Dodgers will be its producing partner for Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical on Broadway. Currently playing to sold-out houses in London's West End, the new musical is planning a New York opening in the Spring of 2013.
