Viewers of Rescue Me, one of television's most intense and affecting shows, will witness the end of an era when the hit series comes to its tumultuous conclusion in early September on FX. Shortly after, on September 13, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will offer the final two seasons as The Sixth Season and The Final Season on DVD in a five-disc set ($45.99 SRP) which includes all 19 episodes and special features including four featurettes, deleted scenes and a gag reel. Starring Denis Leary as veteran firefighter Tommy Gavin, along with an outstanding ensemble, Rescue Me follows the professional and personal lives of a group of New York City firefighters as they struggle to deal with real life issues following the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. According to NY Magazine, Lisa Lampanelli is busy creating a one-woman Broadway show with the help of Alan Zweibel. Lampanelli commented: 'It's something that I haven't done yet. I'm scared to death because I have to talk about the real stuff. Like, no stand-up; there's not one line of stand-up ... it's pretty much going to focus on my two main obsessions in life, which are men and food. And now that I'm married I only have one obsession, food, so I'm going to stick to that.'
USA Network Joins Denis Leary & Jim Serpico to Develop Comedy Pilot

Denis Leary has signed on to develop and co-write a half-hour pilot, an adaptation of the highly anticipated British Channel 4 television series 'Sirens,' which follows the humorous antics and dramatic conflicts of young paramedics, it was announced today by Bill McGoldrick, senior vice president, original scripted programming, USA.

FX has set its summer schedule with the return of two critically acclaimed original series and the premiere of a new original comedy. Wilfred, FX's newest original comedy, and the second season of Louie will premiere on Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 PM ET/PT and 10:30 PM ET/PT, respectively. Rescue Me returns for its final season on Tuesday, July 12 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
