Brevard Music Center Stages 'Music Rivalry' for Super Bowl 50

Brevard, NC and Aspen, Colo.—Lady Gaga won't be the only one in the musical spotlight at Super Bowl 50. This Sunday, Brevard Music Center and Aspen Music Festival -- two of the country's most prestigious music institutions and summer festivals -- are putting their batons down, and fists up, to defend the honor of their respective football teams, the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.

Singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash concludes her Carnegie Hall Perspectives series with a performance on Saturday, February 20 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, featuring songs from her Grammy-Awarding winning album The River & The Thread. The record, a collaboration with her partner, producer, and co-writer John Leventhal, musically, narratively, spiritually, and geographically explores the American South. For the second half of the program, Cash is joined by acclaimed musician Jeff Tweedy--founding member and leader of the American rock band Wilco--to perform songs from her storied musical catalogue with an emphasis on songs from her critically acclaimed 2009 album The List.

Carol Lipnik Set for Debut Residency at Joe's Pub Ahead of New Album Release

CAROL LIPNIK - the spellbinding, darkly-humorous singer and songwriter recently called an 'ethereal vocal phenomenon' by The New York Times - will mark her debut solo residency at Joe's Pub at The Public with Thursday evening shows on March 3, March 10 and March 17 at 7:00 PM. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 19 at JoesPub.org. Lipnik, who blends folk music and art song with the classic nightclub tradition, will perform a concert celebrating her latest album 'Almost Back To Normal' with an expanded musical palette featuring strings and percussion. In addition, she will premiere original musical compositions. Her music director and pianist Matt Kanelos will lead the band. The show is produced by TWEED TheaterWorks (Lypsinka) and DAX MGMT (Weimar New York, Joey Arias).

The Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series presents an afternoon of violin with sung and spoken word with PSO principal second violinist Alexander Chaleff, soprano Winnie Nieh, and poet Alexandra Zelman-Doring at the Institute for Advanced Study. The concert features works by composers Anna Clyne, Ralph Vaughn Williams, and Gustav Holst interspersed with Ms. Zelman-Doring's multi-lingual recitation of poetry related to the orchestra's season.

San Francisco Performances Founder and President Announces Retirement

San Francisco, November 11, 2015 - Ruth A. Felt, founder and President of San Francisco Performances--one of the country's most respected performing arts presenting organizations--has announced that she will retire from the nonprofit she created and has led for 36 years in the fall of 2016. Ms. Felt, who is 76, makes this announcement at a time when San Francisco Performances is at a particularly strong place artistically, administratively and financially and with artists and programming details already in place for two upcoming seasons, according to Patrick McCabe, Chair of the Board of Trustees. Since 1980 San Francisco Performances annually has presented the world's leading artists in genres and series including vocal music, piano, chamber music, jazz, guitar, contemporary dance, young masters, virtuosi and special events. Princeton Symphony Orchestra Extends Music Director Rossen Milanov's Contract Through 2022

Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) announced the extension of Rossen Milanov's contract as Music Director for another five years. Mr. Milanov signed the agreement over the weekend, and PSO Executive Director Marc Uys shared the news with patrons at the outset of the orchestra's concert Sunday afternoon at Richardson Auditorium.
