Members of the Black Voices Project have come together to perform a powerful reinterpretation of 'You Will Be Found' in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Producing Artistic Director Emeritus Spiro Veloudos is in the director's chair for AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS and stages Ken Ludwig's adaptation with distinct shadings of film noir and a who's who of Lyric Stage Company veterans (and a couple of newbies) on board to play the rogue's gallery of characters. If you already know whodunnit, the fresh take on telling the story will be worth the fare, and if you don't know who commits the dastardly deed, you're in for more than a few juicy surprises.

From May 31 through June 22, 2019, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present the New England Premiere production of the acclaimed Off-Broadway musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS.

Wheelock Family Theatre at Boston University's production will reveal the contemporary resonances of the Tony Award-winning musical, Ragtime, based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow with book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Performances will run Today, January 25th (Opening) through Sunday, February 17th with Todays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 7:30pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. Colorful and imaginative costumes, other-worldly lighting and sound effects, and a scenic design that combines magic with urban details, serve as the playground for the Lyric Stage Company's production of the 1975 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, THE WIZ, under the direction of Dawn M. Simmons. Helping her translate her vision of Oz, by way of New Orleans, are Music Director Allyssa Jones, fronting a vibrant eight-piece orchestra, and Jean Appolon, whose inventive choreography anthropomorphizes a tornado, a poppy field, and the eponymous Yellow Brick Road.

Tony Award nominee and renowned Broadway actor Michel Bell makes his Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston debut this month. Bell will revive the role of JOE, the performance that earned him a Tony Award nomination in Hal Prince's 1995 Broadway production of Show Boat. Bell's bass-baritone delivery of the iconic song 'Ol' Man River' brought audiences to their feet on Broadway. Bell brings his immense talents to the Reagle stage now through July 16 for 8 performances only, in this intimate Goodspeed Musicals version of the Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II masterpiece. Producing Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos opens the 2016-2017 Lyric Stage Company season with Stephen Sondheim's ground-breaking concept musical COMPANY. Winner of six Tony Awards in 1971, as well as the 2007 winner for Best Revival of a Musical, don't be surprised to find this modern makeover capturing some hardware when awards season rolls around in Boston next spring. Moonbox Productions, nominated for numerous IRNE and Elliot Norton Awards, kicks-off its sixth season with its second annual, one-night only, company cabaret entitled - Decadence, Debauchery and Divas!  The cabaret takes place at Club Oberon, 2 Arrow Street in Cambridge, on October 19th from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm.  Tickets are $25 and all proceeds and donations benefit Moonbox Productions' mission to produce top quality local theater and to help area non-profits increase the reach and impact of their work.

CITY OF ANGELS, Larry Gelbart, Cy Coleman, and David Zippel's musical romp through the seedy underworld of Hollywood via film noir, would be nothing without its dazzling dames. The same holds true for the production soon ending its run at Boston's Lyric Stage. Without the humor and heat brought by the wonderful Leigh Barrett and Jennifer Ellis, director Spiro Veloudos' CITY OF ANGELS would be all steak and no sizzle.

The Independent Reviewers of New England congratulate the entire greater Boston theater community on another successful year of stellar productions. The 18th Annual IRNE Awards was held on Monday, April 7, with awards in 54 categories in writing, acting, design in all disciplines, and directing.

The Bob Jolly Charitable Trust, established by the late Boston actor, has announced Boston actor Davron Monroe as the first recipient of the Bob Jolly Award. A $2,000 recognition, Bob Jolly created the Trust and the Award to recognize and encourage a local actor or actress who shared Jolly's commitment to the Boston theater community.

American Classics presents Chic and Delishious A Culinary Cabaret on Feb. 28 and March 2 at 6:00pm at The Hampshire House.

The Boston Landmarks Orchestra (LO) announces its 2013 summer season at the DCR's historic Hatch Shell on Boston's Esplanade along the Charles River, and additional concerts and educational activities in Boston's neighborhoods. Concerts at the Hatch Shell take place every Wednesday at 7 pm, beginning July 17 and running through August 28. Neighborhood event times vary. All concerts are free.
