Underscore Theatre Company is pleased to present the world premiere musical thriller MY NAME IS ANNIE KING, the story of a young man who stumbles into the world of a religious cult in backcountry Missouri, becoming intoxicated by its leader and his ideologies. With a bluegrass/folk infused score by Aaron Albert and Katy Rea and book by Krista Pioppa, the new musical is directed by Alex Higgin-Houser. In the tradition of Underscore's 2016 hit musicalHaymarket: The Anarchist's Songbook, some members of the cast will play their own instruments. MY NAME IS ANNIE KINGwill play April 21 - May 28, 2017 at Underscore's new resident home Pride Arts Center (The Broadway), 4139 N. Broadway in Chicago. Pride Films and Plays' production of the Tony Award-winning musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, the company's inaugural production in their two-stage Pride Arts Center, has added an extra four weeks of performances and will now close on Sunday, March 12 rather than the previously announced February 12.

Pride Films and Plays is excited to start its fall season with the world premiere of Resolution, opening October 24 at Rivendell Theater, 5779 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago. Just in time for Halloween, Hell in a Handbag Productions delivers a parody so dead-on, it's frightening! Artistic Director David Cerda lampoons a cartoon classic in his world premiere comedy SKOOBY, DON'T, directed by Derek Van Barham. Follow the adventures of four adults - Scaggy, Fredd, Velva and Daffy - who wear the same clothes everyday while driving around in a van with their mentally-impaired talking dog, 'solving mysteries.'
