The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Born for This July 11 through August 6 (press opening on July 20). Kicking off The Broad Stage's 2017-18 Theatre Season, this new musical features original music by six time GRAMMY Award-winning artist BeBe Winans, book by Charles Randolph-Wright and BeBe Winans, and is directed by Randolph-Wright (director of the Broadway and West End runaway hit Motown: The Musical).

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced today that applications for the fall 2017 San Francisco Semester (SFS) are now being accepted. The study-away program brings undergraduate students, recent college graduates, and international students into an active, ongoing engagement with the eclectic and energetic arts community of San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. Grounded in a rich academic curriculum, the San Francisco Semester focuses on the practical aspects of the craft of acting and life in the professional theater. The 15-week program features a 17-credit core curriculum enhancing students' study with rigorous, upper-level classes in acting styles, voice/dialects, physical theater, and devised (student-created) work. Actress Christina Ricci was presented with the Vanguard Award following the screening and Q&A for Amazon's 'Z' The Beginning of Everything,' with actor David Holfin, and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin. The cast of FOX's 'Star' also received the Rising Star Award on Saturday night. Actors Jude Demorest, Brittany O'Grady and Ryan Destiny accepted the honor on behalf of the cast.

Award-winning singer and actress April Woodall (Souvenir, Reading Under the Influence, Gray Matters) is realizing a dream this March in Philadelphia. Woodall will star in the world premiere of Hearing John Denver's Voice, a cabaret exploring her multifaceted relationship with the music of John Denver, at L'Etage (624 S. 6th Street). The unique show will run March 20 and March 21, 2017 at 7:30PM each evening.

The Acting Company announces its 2016-17 season and 44th national tour featuring two new gripping dramas in repertory -- the world premiere of Marcus Gardley's X and William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Both will be staged in an exciting artistic and educational collaboration with nearly 30 universities, colleges and community partners. The Company also has announced a five month, monthly Monday night Salon Reading Series in New York City.
