Rite of Summer Music Festival presents the final concerts of its 2014 season as Grand Band performs “A BIGGER PICTURE” on *Today, September 6th at Colonels' Row on Governors Island, NYC. Featuring two free one-hour programs of contemporary six-piano music including the world premiere of Yale composer Ben Wallace's A Road You Can Go, a circus-like, funk-inspired piece for a panoply of keyboards, auxiliary percussion, melodicas, toy pianos and a solo keytar, New York premieres by Bang on a Can co-founder Michael Gordon and Grand Band member Paul Kerekes, as well as Steve Reich's seminal classic Six Pianos.
