Charice, the 18 year old sizzling hot singing star from the Philippines, landed the No. 8 slot on this week's Billboard charts with sales of 42,985 for her self-titled CD, it was confirmed today by 143/Reprise Records.

Red hot new singing sensation Charice who celebrates her 18th birthday on May 10th is giving fans a reason to celebrate also with the release of her highly anticipated self titled debut album scheduled for release the very next day. Also, on the May 11th release day, Charice will perform on The Oprah Winfrey Show (her 4th visit to the Oprah stage) during the day and is scheduled to perform on QVC later that evening.

North Carolina Theatre, the region's only producer of professional Broadway musical revivals, announces Bringing Broadway Home, a spectacular benefit concert on Monday, June 21st at 8 PM in Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) announced the winners of the 2010 Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 20, for outstanding achievement in writing for screen, television, radio, news, promotional, and videogame writing at simultaneous ceremonies at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City. Susie Essman of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' hosted the East Coast ceremony while Seth MacFarlane 'Family Guy' was the host for the West Coast show.

Acting Up Stage's popular Dark Night Cabaret series was kicked off in early February with Unexpressed: An Evening of Songs from the Heart featuring Michael Hughes with special guest Callandra Dendias. These are two of Toronto's most promising young stars, and here we have them singing Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors.
