Wood Street Galleries Premieres SHORTPLAYER, 10/1

Wood Street Galleries is proud to present the world premiere of 'Shortplayer,' a new composition by renowned artist and composer Jem Finer. 'Shortplayer' will be performed by Finer leading a group of Pittsburgh's finest musicians at 9:30 p.m. Friday, October 1 at Wood Street Galleries, immediately following the Downtown Gallery Crawl. ('Shortplayer' concert admission is $10/$8 students.) The performance marks the Pittsburgh launch of Finer's acclaimed artwork Longplayer, a 1,000-year-long composition that has played continuously since 1999, and which arrives in Pittsburgh as part of Wood Street Galleries' sound-installation show, Audio Space (Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 2010).

On Saturday, June 5th, Fatty Lumpkin and the Love Hogs perform their own brand of classic rock and roll at Theater at Lime Kiln. The group, once a Lexington staple, has performed to enthusiastic crowds at Lime Kiln the last two years. Local band Honest Scoundrels will open the evening at 6:30pm.

'30 Rock' will add a new address in 2011 as COMEDY CENTRAL has reached a multi-year deal with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution to license the Emmy(R) Award-winning comedy series '30 Rock,' it was announced today by Frances Manfredi, executive vice president/general sales manager, cable and non-theatrical sales for NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution and David Bernath, senior vice president, program strategy & microwave programming for COMEDY CENTRAL.
