Noted Pianist Michael Fennelly to Perform in Morris Choral Society's 5/20 Concert

Jason Tramm and the Morris Choral Society welcome acclaimed pianist Michael Fennelly who will perform Beethoven's exquisite 'Choral Fantasy, Op. 80' this Saturday May 20th at the Dorothy Young Concert Hall at Drew University. Mr. Fennelly will perform the famed concerto which Beethoven himself premiered in 1808 in in lieu of Italian pianist Cristiana Pegoraro, who is indisposed.

Pianist Ben Rosenblum will present unique solo piano programs each Tuesday in April at The Kitano, (66 Park Ave, no cover, $15 min food/drink charge), including: selected standards and originals (April 4), selections from unusual inspirations/sources (April 11); special guests (April 18); and selections from his debut album (April 25).  Ben's music has earned numerous awards, including the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award and several Downbeat Student Music Awards (best original composition and best original arrangement), and has been described as "mature beyond his years." Fadi Khoury's FJK DANCE will bring 10 company dancers to China, kicking off the company's first extended international tour to the Far East, February 28 to April 30. The eight-week multi-city tour will present three FJK DANCE repertory works, Take Two, Echoes and Dum Tak, in 31 Chinese cities including Wuhan, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wenzhou, introducing FJK's unique blend of ballroom, ballet, jazz and Middle Eastern dance to new international audiences. The company's multicultural approach to the medium will be presented in more than 30 theaters throughout the run.

On February 10th and 11th the ABT Studio Company (formerly ABT ll), under the artistic direction of Kate Lydon, and graduate students of London's RBS met at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts to give three performances of classical and new classical repertory. The shared performances are part of a unique exchange, which began in 2003, between the ABT Studio Company and The Royal Ballet School. On alternate years, they perform in NYC, while on alternate years, they perform in London. I attended the opening night performance, February 10, 2017.
