The performance, which takes place during National Adoption Month, follows Zara's path to locate her birth father and reveals the many emotions, longings, disappointments and realities that journey entails. The Garden of Dreams Foundation announced today that legendary artist and Garden of Dreams Foundation board member, Darryl McDaniels, is the recipient of the 2014 Garden of Dreams Hero Award. Established in 2009, the Hero Award honors one person or organization annually that embodies the spirit of the Garden of Dreams Foundation through an active and ongoing dedication to positively impacting the lives of children facing obstacles, while serving as a driving force and inspiration for others.

The Public Theater will continue its Public Forum season with PUBLIC FORUM SOLO: JOSEPH STIGLITZ ON THE RICH AND POOR on Monday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Joe's Pub. This one-night-only event will feature a talk by Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz on income inequality and what the artistic community can do about it, followed by a conversation featuring Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC, Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, and Public Works Director Lear deBessonet.

Yesterday, the Garden of Dreams Foundation and the New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital unveiled the refurbishments in the Children's Diagnostic Radiology Center made possible by a grant from Garden of Dreams. Celebrities including the Rockettes, John Starks, Rod Gilbert, Adam Graves, Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels joined patients and Hospital staff for the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate and unveil the new corridor. Celebrity guests recently mentored children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation in rehearsals for the upcoming Talent Show performance at Radio City Music Hall on April 16. R&B pop phenomenon Mindless Behavior, Miss USA Nana Meriwether, model Damaris Lewis, hip hop pioneer and talent show creative director Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels, Broadway star Tony Vincent (American Idiot, NBC's 'The Voice'), The Rockettes and Knicks City Dancers watched and listen as the kids rehearsed their singing, dancing, and/or hip hop acts. Madison Square Garden will celebrate some of the greatest moments in the Arena's more than 130 year history with a special event today, October 11, at 11am at Madison Square Park, the location of the original and second Garden arenas. The event will unveil the unforgettable moments that will be commemorated through two unique exhibits - "Garden 366" and "Defining Moments" - as part of Phase II of The Garden's historic three-year, top-to-bottom Transformation. Since 1879, The Garden's four Arena complexes have played host to some of the greatest sports, entertainment and political moments in history. At this special event, luminaries that were a part of these remarkable moments will come together to unveil how the Arena will pay homage to this great history this Fall.
