NT Live's FRANKENSTEIN with Benedict Cumberbatch Returning to Theaters in October

Due to unprecedented audience demand, NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE has announced special encore screenings of The National Theatre of Great Britain's acclaimed Olivier Award winning production of FRANKENSTEIN, a play by Nick Dear based on Mary Shelley's novel. The production stars Olivier Award winners Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller, and directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle, in select cinemas worldwide on October 27 & 29, 2014. Tickets go on sale beginning this Friday, September 12. Dates vary at venues internationally and further screenings will follow.

HOME Presents Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET, Beginning Tonight

HOME, the organisation formed by the merger of Manchester's Library Theatre Company and Cornerhouse, will follow up their critically acclaimed sold-out production of Angel Meadow with a spectacular site-specific production of Shakespeare's romantic tragedy Romeo & Juliet in Manchester's historic Victoria Baths in September 2014 (http://homemcr.org/romeo-and-juliet), the building which won BBC1's first Restoration programme in 2003. The historic baths will be filled with 86,000 gallons of water for the performance. Performances will run from tonight Wednesday 10 September through Saturday 4 October.

According to the Daily Mail, director Lyndsey Turner and producer Sonia Friedman are in talks with National Theatre Live to film the Barbican Theatre's Summer 2015 production of HAMLET, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role. The production would screen in theaters next year.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced additional casting for The Real Thing, starring Ewan McGregor as 'Henry,' Maggie Gyllenhaal as 'Annie,' Cynthia Nixon as 'Charlotte' and Josh Hamilton as 'Max.' Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play The Real Thing, directed by Sam Gold begins preview performances on Thursday, October 2, 2014 and opens officially on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42ndStreet). Lyndsey Turner's production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, with Benedict Cumberbatch playing the title role, doesn't begin performances until next summer at the Barbican Theatre, but according to the Telegraph, the show is already breaking records. Tickets for the play went on sale on August 11, and since then the show 'has become the most in-demand theatre production of all time.' Not only is Hamlet outselling the next most-popular production, the Young Vic's A Streetcar Named Desire, by four to one, but searches for tickets on Viagogo also surpass those for Beyonce and Jay Z's world tour.

Lyndsey Turner's production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, with Benedict Cumberbatch playing the title role, will begin performances at the Barbican Theatre on 5 August 2015, with opening night on 25 August at 7pm. The twelve week limited run will conclude on 31 October 2015. Set design is by Es Devlin. Further casting and details for this production will be announced at a later date.
