Walking up to this warehouse building in the downtown area I was excited. Was I in the East Village seeing a production at La MaMa, or I was in the Bayou City seeing The Stark Naked Theatre Company's production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM? From the rugged factory exterior of the venue to the perfectly designed industrial theatre space I was in artistic heaven.

Stark Naked Theatre Company continues its fourth season with a compelling production of one of William Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Co-directed by Philip Lehl and Kim Tobin-Lehl, and produced in collaboration with the University of Houston, A Midsummer Night's Dream previews on March 5th, opens on March 6th, and runs through March 21st at STUDIO 101.

Mildred's Umbrella Theatre Company presents THE TEXAS PREMIERE reading of HOTEL VOLKSWAGEN by Icelandic writer, comedian and actor, and former Mayor of Reykjavik, Jon Gnarr. The readings will be January 25, 2015 at 3pm and January 26, 2015 at 7pm at Studio 101, 1824 Spring Street, Houston, TX 77007. Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company has a successful history of presenting Houston audiences with bold and innovative theatre, offering patrons an altogether edgy theatre-going experience. In addition to their 2014-2015 mainstage season, Mildred's Umbrella has just kicked-off their four play series entitled The Women's Project with CASSANDRA by Katharine Sherman. The Women's Project will feature plays that are written by a female playwright, or contain thematic elements that explore the feminine perspective. Furthermore, a portion of proceeds from each of the productions in The Women's Project series will be donated to local charities dedicated to women's issues. Taking time out of her schedule, Artistic Director and Co-Founder Jennifer Decker, met with us to fill us in on what Houston Audiences can expect from Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company's 2014-2015 Season.
Stark Naked Theatre's THE WINTER'S TALE Postponed Until 5/8

Due to family issues, actor David Wald is no longer a part of Stark Naked Theatre's upcoming production of THE WINTER'S TALE. To address this unforeseen circumstance, Director Philip Lehl will assume the role of Leontes, and the play's opening weekend is postponed by one week. THE WINTER'S TALE will now open on Thursday, May 8th, at 7:30 p.m.
