Center Theatre Groups's DouglasPlus to Present 'The Projectionist' March 26 - April 4

As part of Center Theatre Group's DouglasPlus, Los Angeles playwright Michael Sargent's new play 'The Projectionist' will run for seven performances only at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, beginning Thursday, March 26 and continuing through Saturday, April 4, 2009.

Mike Daisey Performs 'How Theater Failed America' at Kirk Douglas Theatre March 18-21

As part of Center Theatre Group's DouglasPlus, Mike Daisey performs his acclaimed monologue 'How Theater Failed America' for four performances only at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, opening Wednesday, March 18 and continuing through Saturday, March 21 (all performances are at 8 p.m.). A special roundtable discussion will be held following the March 20 performance on the state of American theatre. Daisey will also workshop a new piece, 'The Last Cargo Cult' on Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m.

DOUGLASPLUS Series Allows For Affordable Theater-Going

Culver City's Kirk Douglas Theatre will offer a new series called DouglasPlus. These lower-priced, limited-run performances of work are in varying stages of development. Productions take place on stage, in the lobby, and in the rehearsal rooms. Seating will change with each show to meet the needs to individual productions. The series will run March 14 through April 18 and will include fully staged and minimally staged events, workshops and readings. Tickets to the productions will cost $20, with general-admission seating. The first presentation of DouglasPlus will be a youth theater piece called 'Darwin,' a family show created by Corbin Popp and Ian Carney. Tickets: $20. (213) 628-2772.
